Well if you already made up your mind, why are you making this thread? Just for moral support? I thought you wanted honest opinions about the company. If all you wanted was moral support, why not ask for it? If you call someones direct experience with the company you chose that doesn't paint them in a good light as a "wooden nickel" you might not last very long in this industry.
Why don't you read this guys thread? Lual is the forum Schneider rep. They will go to all threads about this company and write good things about them. But then there is the truth. Read:
Heading To Schneider
You want to claim this guy doesn't know, either? He only WORKED THERE.
"Well, all good things must come to an end. After 5 days total of being on my own, I decided that I really do not like the trucking lifestyle anymore. Dealing with loads that make no sense. Waiting in line for an hour to get into a facility. Not being given all the information that you need to pick up a load. Then not being able to get in touch with anyone for an hour while you watch your clock tick down. So i made my last delivery and turned my truck in."
I said you will be frustrated with this job. It took this guy, who was just like you, all gungho about his new job and how great the company SEEMED to be, a whole FIVE DAYS before he quit.
So no, my advice might not be a wooden nickel, it might be a golden dollar if you let it be. But if you don't want to hear negative things about your company because you think they're gods gift to the trucking industry, I've got two words of advice:
GOOD LUCK.

I’m not discounting your point of view. That was your experience and I can understand that. Not everyone will have the same experience you did. Some new drivers have to figure out proper road etiquette and stay in the proper lane for the governed speed of their truck. Common sense goes a long way, unfortunately common sense isn’t so common any more. Too many people only think about themselves and don’t care about others. I haven’t had any rude people at Schneider yet. Anyone can have a bad day and sometimes we don’t realize what they have had going on right before we talk to them. I try everyday to make someone’s day better than it was before I talked to them. A positive attitude and positive interactions spreads just like negative attitudes and negative interactions. I never try to talk someone out of working for any company. Their experience might be better than mine was and if they don’t try then they will never know.

Sounds like you aren’t even in this industry any longer so why are you on a trucking forum sowing seeds of discontent? WOW! Good luck to you. I hope you find peace. I just know I couldn’t live my life as miserable as some people.

Dude I still drive. I have no idea what I said that made you think I'm "no longer in the industry." I just got home yesterday and had been in the truck since last year. I'm not miserable at all. I'm a realist. I tell it like I see it. 1000%. I sugar coat nothing. The director of operations at my company who quit not long ago said "One thing about him, (pointing at me) he's honest." He was speaking to the director of safety who responded, "He show 'nuff is, ain't he?" Gotta love working for a company in the south.Last edited: Jan 23, 2025
