So most of us know NY marks bridges 12" lower than actual clearance. But did you know it's actually illegal to go under a bridge marked lower than your vehicle's physical height???
I fell in a rabbit hole and found this in an official document specifying how restrictions should be marked on NY roads.

Yeah. Read that twice. Freaking busy body bureaucrats and their ridiculous rules.

NY does everything bass ackwards. Exit markers are reverse of the rest of the country and don't follow mile markers, bridge clearances don't match bridge clearances, up is down, left is right... and so on.

If you have a 53' trailer, technically, you shouldn't be in NYC anyways. Seems that laws are made to be broken when it comes to trucks.
