Or a 30 min break. Back then, a quick power nap if you needed one didn't hurt your day.

That was a daily routine in a big truck during the late 70’s and 80’s. Didn’t seem to bother me one bit.

Remember when he was told by an "Asset Manager " that running recaps was more beneficial, then he had one week that made the "Asset Manager" eat crow?

If you're not getting home anyways, running recaps will result in higher paychecks (depending on pay structures) with the same total amount of work.

Huh? You’re paid by the mile no mater if you’re driving 8 hours a day or 11. If you have the miles to run, running 6 full days, taking the 7th off and running a full day on the 8th will bet you around 75-80 hours depending on how much on duty time you log. You can only show 70 hours total on that same 8 days without a reset.

I have the hours available to turn another 1200 miles by the end of the month, which would have put me over 14000 without a reset. However, if the preplan I just got stays on me, I have all the miles I am gonna get for the week and month when I deliver this load.(the last time I was planned on this load, it cancelled). They have me picking up in Morris, IL tomorrow, delivering in Ontario, CA Tuesday. A nice 2050 mile start to the month. I have pushed out my hometime until after Oct 1st so I can continue running as hard as freight allows and to finish off the quarter with a decent bonus check.
