I have nothing constructive to add to this conversation other than my amusement that the initials for Wylie is EWW. Makes me think of stepping in something unpleasant.

I haven’t heard that. We should not have much of anything besides trailers there. We haven’t had an office there for years. We just keep some trailers over on the side angled spots. All that “junk” in the corner is Lone Stars.

While we are talking about big companies and changes, slight thread drift I know but, for all I know still the biggest UK equivalent of this site has finally closed down. Big company bought it, decide it was a silly move, and switched it off. RIP Trucknet UK.

Is there a freight recession hitting countries over there across the pond as they are over here?

That sucks, think it was called The Roundtable. I always enjoyed reading that board. There was a whole section dedicated to former UK drivers now driving in North America. It’s still trucking over there….just different.

Well, they was cleaning out the elevator stuff in the warehouse the other day. Moving it somewhere else. There was 4 or 5 trucks parked there last Wednesday.

    Friend and Lonesome Thank this.

Ohhh, I understand now. I’m not sure if we were indirectly involved with Otis using that warehouse. I know we used to do all that work under contract for Otis but we haven’t had any Otis dedicated employees down there for a few years now. My understanding was Otis used that warehouse and they did all the loading/unloading themselves.

elevators are strange and and won’t miss them, not that I did many to begin with, thankfully.

No idea mate, I'm long out of it now, just get my info from places like this these days, But I seem to remember that many years ago (2003) when I first signed up to Trucknet UK they were part of an international thing, there was a Trucknet.USA and a Canadian one too. Is this correct and do any of you oldies remember them? Maybe they went the same way,

TN.UK was originally owned by a husband and wife, both drivers but some years back they sold it to a publishing house with 2 or 3 road transport magazines.

Then was out of action for a month or so about 18 months ago and only came back with a totally different format, which many did not like and thus departed. Moderation also went out of the window and it became really nasty and political with evil personal insults back and forth. This place is a breath of fresh air to me and I only put up with TN mark 2 by ignoring the evil threads.

More power to the elbow of Truckers' Report, you are all so polite in here. :D
