Next dispatch takes us from just north of LA back up to Washington State.

If you thought that last trip had beautiful scenery, wait until you have the opportunity to come across 90 over Snoqualmie, then thru the panhandle of ID into western MT.

That sounds like an awesome trip! I’m hoping that’s our next run out of WA.

I-5 from Porterville, Ca to Ontario, Ca today. 4 hrs waiting to get loaded at shipper was pathetic. We didn’t get very many miles in today. Tomorrow we run up to our next fuel stop in Winnemucca, NV and then on up to Washington State to deliver. 2 days to run 1008 miles pulling 71,000 in the mountains? Not impossible but it sure doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. Had the shipper got this loaded in a timely manner I’d be able to make the delivery. Dispatch thinks Lear makes the Cascadia…lmao-
On another note, my Espar heater completely quit. I’ve reset it with no results so we run the Opti-Idle for heat or a/c whichever we need until I can get it to a terminal. Struggles and trials is all it is. But, it’s ok… God is still good. Instead of me getting mad and upset about it, I just have to remember where the issues are coming from. God allows it but He’s not the problem. God has blessed my wife and I in a lot of ways lately.

Why can't you do 1000 miles over two days? Even with the mountains you should be able to avg over 45 mph. You might have to run on the 10 and limit the number and duration of stops, but it should be doable.

Well, I ended up making it within 30 minutes to the destination. Due to the shipper taking 4 hours to get me loaded, I missed my appointment and had to deliver this morning. Just got another good run from near Sunnyside, Washington to El Paso, TX. I should be able to make this appointment as long as the shipper gets us loaded in a decent time. We hit snow this morning leaving La Grand, Oregon headed west into the mountains. Our speed dropped down to 22, 24-26 mph due to the slick road. They kept it salted, just a few spots were slick. Had a 4wheeler in the ditch and had it down to one lane. Good thing there wasn’t much traffic at that time. I’m glad the temp came up to 38° by the time we hit Cabbage. Been down that twice now.
My route to TX takes us through Oregon, Utah, New Mexico and then on into Texas. We’re supposed to be back in KC on the 26th for a few days off and then back on the road for another 3-4 weeks.
MsCherokee started collecting key chains from every state and has quite a few from being with me this past year. She said maybe one day when we get a little house of our own she will use them as Christmas ornaments on a little tree. Other than that… Not much is going on. We’re just keeping the faith and keeping God in our lives, praying every day for family, friends and the people who we’ve met along this journey. We pray for each and every trucker and those who have retired from trucking. Guys and dolls, know that you’re appreciated by some of us who are “new” old truckers.

Used to have a good thing going running Seattle to various points in TX and back quite a bit a few years ago. Miss running that as it was one of the most peaceful runs for me.

Pretty laid back & isolated route most of the way. Will likely loose phone signal for quite some time along 191 unless things have changed.

Favorite place along the way for me was always Moab. Beautiful area.

    You both enjoy! ;)
