WalMart is not the end all job for everyone. Just as UPS, FedEx, LTL, linehaul, is not the perfect fit for everyone. Some people? Sure, they can make it work. Not everyone, though.

Well Walmart drivers do shower daily and wild goose chases pay the same top dollar as any and every ordinary day here so there's that. And work slowing down, what is that like? Yeah I'll be checking the lugnuts and laughing to the bank.

Plenty of jobs pay Walmart money without the Walmart nonsense. I shower every day, usually in my own shower at my house, and most nights I sleep in my own bed, all for Walmart money. We get you like your job there but it’s not the end all be all.

Yeah but you don't have near the perks we do. They take good care of drivers here. I went and competed in the state TDC last week. That was 3 days that paid me my usual avg days pay $1500 - all meals provided and a nice hotel just to go have a good time competing against other drivers. Got paid 4 hours of average daily pay to drive home on the fourth day that was a hair under $200 which we actually checked out the third night and drove home a 45 minute drive. I could go on and on and on. I lose count of all the catered meals they treat us to or they bust out the grill on occasion. Hey if they screw around and have me on a wild goose chase and I'm a $100-$150 below my ADP they'll make me whole and bump the day's pay to $500. Your company do stuff like that all the time?

I can go home every night if want to. Not everybody here has that option though. Going home every night is great but it's not the end all be all some of you guys act like it is. Tell the truth about a 12 hour shift how energized you feel when you get home. Or Lord help you if it's 14 hours. Lot of you guys like to take jabs and make comments but I'm just telling it like it is.

Unlike most here I post pics of what I drive. It’s pretty easy to see who it is.

Right. What’s good for some isn’t good for others. That’s all I’m pointing out. Walmart isn’t a good fit for everyone but you act like everyone should just suck it up and work there because of the pay. What I find funny is they tout how much they pay their drivers but as a corporation overall they’re one of the top companies with employees on public assistance. That’s the main reason I don’t shop there and why I’d never drive for them. I don’t think my tax dollars should be subsidizing their employees.

If you want to recruit people to your company, why not start a thread of your own and stop hijacking other people's threads. If Walmart is such a wonderful company to drive for, how come they have abundant openings? I can't believe they have that many retiring or are expanding that much, which means, like @Long FLD pointed out, not everybody would be happy working for them.

No I don't think everyone of you should work here. Im just standing up defending from the digs. None of you guys have a clue what you're talking about. They are a stand up operation.

As far as store associates go. Let me clue you in on something that's not exactly a secret. Walmart stores will hire anyone off the street. That person can then through hard work and determination climb the ladder and vastly improve their life situation. They could become a store manager making $400,000+/- a year if they had ambition. I work with MANY people who came here starting out at the bottom who have worked their way up like that. One guy in particular is a driver who went thru their associate to driver program. Had never driven a truck in his life up until a couple of years ago when walmart trained him. He started in a store in 2012 cleaning toilets and ended up working and promoted to every single job inside the store except for store manager. Walmart paid for his business degree. I doubt this guy will drive a truck forever he's got ambition. I run across people on the other end of the spectrum who complain about everything. They have every opportunity in front of them but they don't take advantage of it. Yeah that's how it is in life. Some people go get it done and some people don't.
