Picking up a load in the morning and heading to Indiana. From there, who knows. Talked to someone about my asset manager who said he’s going to talk to her tomorrow and basically said I wasn’t driving the miles that I need to, turning the situation onto me and not taking me seriously. I might be looking for another job unless this changes. Im too old to be talked to like a child and putting it back on me. We have days off for a reason and unless I get those days off to go to dr appointments then I won’t be driving very long. I’m not going to put in for days off and have Any asset manager try to have me work on my days off when they’ve been approved then their truck just won’t move.

Why do I dislike truck stops? Because, I’m forced to put up with the smell of pot coming from multiple trucks. It comes into my vents and unless I want to sleep without A/C I have to put up with it or sleep in rest areas where I can get away from it. Maybe I should get out of trucking altogether and go do something else. Problem is that it puts me living in my car with nowhere to go.
Friend, Lonesome, hope not dumb twucker and 2 others Thank this. -
Don’t let them talk down to you. They are not your superior. How many miles are you averaging per day ?Friend, Lonesome, hope not dumb twucker and 1 other person Thank this.
-
As long as you're averaging at least 2500 miles a week, you're doing your job. But no matter, an Asset Manager needs to treat you like an adult and like a professional, otherwise he/she needs to take up office space in another department.

Most likely you’re on your 90 day temporary asset manager also that person might be brand new because all of a sudden they have an influx of brand new rookie dispatcher so to speak in the office evidently ask to be put on your permanent one one that’s been here a while

Said my miles were 8300 March and 7300 April and was told they needed to be more. This came from 1 above the asset manager, BB-Lonesome, xlsdraw, Rugerfan and 1 other person Thank this.

8300 March and 7300 April. In April I had issues with my tractor and several trailers. And on top of that, short dispatches and being held up 4 hours at a couple of shippers and several hours at receivers. I can’t run miles in the shop or if I’m sitting to get loaded/unloaded. Not making excuses, just stating facts. Several times I rejected loads due to them being anywhere from 23 miles to 180 milesFriend, Lonesome and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

Gotta love how the office is always quick to blame the driver.

@Cherokee65 all of your pre-plans comes directly from the load Planners… Just reject them as nonproductive if they have exceedingly too much time on them or as I tend to do, ask them where they would like to load T Called at… your asset manager might not be pushing the planner to send more productive loads as well.

I have had my permanent asset manager for a few weeks. She acts like I work for Delta Airlines. I’ve been given a run tomorrow for 714 miles and a little over 24 hours to get there…. Through Macon Georgia, Atlanta, Nashville, Bowling Green, Louisville and on up to Seymour, IN. They figure 47mph and at that it will be a little over 15hrs drive time. I can legally drive 11, so do I drive like a nut job taking chances through Monteagle or call in and tell them it’s going to be late? Actually, I’m not getting a ticket for anyone for any reason.Friend, Lonesome and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.
