Experienced 2 seasons yesterday. Summer and Fall. Woke up in Wilmer and it was still over 80° before sunrise. Drove thru some seriously heavy rain, but by the time I was in Oklahoma, it was in the 50's, and only managed to hit the high 50's the rest of the day. Delivered in OKC, got to Edmond to the Purina plant just as a cold drizzle rolled in. Drove around that plant looking for where I was told my loaded trailer was located, no bueno, just randomly drove around looking for it and finally located it and got out of there. I originally wanted to make KC before calling it a night, but after all that extra time I used (on my 14) looking for my long lost trailer, I figuured I wouldn't make it, but fortunately this load is a load of doggie treats and is relatively light (for a Purina load), so I decided to roll on in to the KC yard. I was gonna have about 20 min to spare, until......I hit construction just before the exit to the yard. That blew an extra 10 min, then I get to the entrance gate and the gate won't open when I swipe my card on the top pad. All I got was the green-blue-red flash (like when I first tried to use my card at the Indy terminal before they re-activated my card with the correct card number). After the week so far, I really wasn't in the mood to deal with this bullcrap. But before calling Lincoln and seeing if they can open the gate before my 14 hour coach turned into a punkin in the driveway, I got out and swiped my card on the lower touch pad and the gate opened. I managed to get parked with 5 minutes to spare. After I parked, another Crete pulled up to the gate and had the same issue. He wouldn't answer me on the radio so I walked up and told him that the lower pad was working. When the gate opened, I put a note on the upper pad and messaged Lincoln about it in case anybody calls in about not being able to get in. I will let the KC office know once they get their morning mahem started. I guess they used the same mindset when purchasing the electronics for these gates as they do when buying trucks. When will they ever learn, buying the cheapest stuff in the beginning doesn't always save you money in the long run. This gate system isn't even 6 months old and they're having issues. I guess the electronics that are make out of Chineseium just don't last.
