On my Carrier units, high speed can be disabled by simply unplugging it. Anyone know if this can be done on a TK SBiii?

Why would you want to do that?

High speed isn't needed for what I do, low is plenty and it saves a lot of fuel.

Does the SB3 have the rabbit button to force it into high speed? I would think you could disable it that way? I have owned 3 carriers and only one TK SB210 so I'm trying to remember what the older SB3 has for a control pad. I'm assuming you looked and there wasn't an easy high speed solenoid to disconnect like on a carrier???

I have an SB 300 and have run it for awhile with the high speed disconnected. On mine, there was a rod with a slight bend in it that connected the solenoid to the throttle. It has a ball socket on both ends and just snaps off by hand. The screen still shows the rabbit when it's in "high speed" but it functions normally. I have hauled frozen on hot days with this setup and no issue or codes.

After talking to a friend of mine though, I like to hook it up every now and then to blow the bugs out. He said he had seen motors that ran low speed all the time and they had a lot of carbon build up. So it wouldn't hurt to let her scream once in awhile.

Isn't that going to mess with the defrost cycle time? (low speed only)

With the Carriers no it doesn't, defrost works fine.

Don't see an obvious disconnect like a Carrier. The Carrier one is so obvious, not so with the TK.

Not that anyone cares, lol, but I figured out how to do it. Just cut the line going to the throttle solenoid and put in a plug connector. Unplugged now it only runs in slow speed, worked good.

    Panhandle flash Thanks this.
