Just wondering if anyone knows of a fuse for the backup (reverse) light. I've replaced the light and it still will not work. Can't find anything in my manual in regards to a backup light fuse. Also is there a switch on the transmission? If anyone has any idea what it could be I would appreciate any info. I'd prefer not to have to waste my time at the dealership if I can.

P.s. If it makes any difference it has a manual trans (eaton 9).

Very helpful. I appreciate your input. Btw if I have any problems that I can't track down with my other truck I'll just pm you so you can give me an appraisal on that truck too.

Have you tried the T/A when you get back since they are Freightliner certified. Might just be something simple like maybe a loose wire or another type of fuse link???

Yeah I planned on giving them a shot. I just would feel silly if there is something as simple as a fuse to change that I don't know of.

One of my backup lights burned out. I just removed it. Nice big hole where it used to be. Unreal $135,000 dollar truck.

Nothing wrong with feeling silly. There are so many parts to these trucks that we as drivers cannot really know them all. I did find out something the other day, and that this T/A can service the small DEF filter on your truck, but not mine since a KW.

Unfortunately there is no fuse for the reverse lights, as they are a logic controlled output from sam chassis. The switch is on top of the trans, left rear on top. You can disconnect the switch and jump it, to see if it is the switch. If not, there is either a wiring problem or an issue with the sam chassis

    Broccelli and mhyn Thank this.
