once upon a time there were no stalls ans showers were quite often in the restroom. when I was in the army the latrine had two rows of toilets down the middle , all in the open and a row of sinks down each side, you would take a crap with guys on each side and a naked behind right in front of you. the showers were a big open room with shower heads coming out of the wall. a crack in a stall door isn't a problem to me, all a matter of perspective.

when I left about 6 months ago, we rarely fueled at Petro or T/A but my biggest gripe is we had to turn in all fuel receipts, meaning we could not go to get a fuel receipt inside. At Pilot/J, this took about 7 seconds, TA/Petro? had to wait in line and deal with all the BS there.

For those of us that literally "fuel and go", waiting in a long line is not something we care for. Why can't Petro and TA provide fuel receipts at Kiosk like Pilot/J, I don't know. Is Loves still using the goofy "mailbox system"? For me, the kiosk system at Pilot/J [for both showers and receipts] makes a huge difference, and they are rarely down. That gets my vote every day.

I like certain TA's and certain Petros for food and doing occasional 10's, but for every day fuel use, I have no need for either of them.

you can get fuel receipts at the kiosk at t/a petro. you can even get older receipts at the t/a petro kiosk, and pilot, flying j has no dedicated fuel desk, if ya need something other than just a fuel receipt if you are getting oil, additive, cash etc. you then are in line with tourists and the like. I am sure glad I am not in a hurry like some of you guys, I don't get in a rush to where getting a fuel receipt puts me in a crunch for time

Same thing when I went to Marine Corps boot camp wide open toilets. Just drape your towel over your lap for privacy. We were all in sync come SSS time.

Denton TX TA has a new twist. It is a franchise, so customer service is worse than usual. I was parked like a good little boy in the middle of the twin row, where trucks back in tail to tail. Problem was of course the guys who park in the fire lane at the curb perpendicular to the row making it difficult to back in. And that was happening because the " reserved" spots easily took up 50% of the spaces, mostly empty at 13:00 hrs.I am 10' deeper in my space because the
Bobtail behind me is taking a full space, but where I am positioned trucks on either side can back in without incident(hitting me)

Did I say I was waiting to get into the garage to spend about $300?

Up walks this little twerp with an orange vest with Road Gang, or whatever calls their road service thing and he says:
"I need you to pull up so your bumper is even with the trucks next to you"
"Why, the space created behind me cannot be accesed by any other trucks"
"That doesn't matter. I need you to pull up"
"I am here because of the illegally parked trucks in the fire lane, so I don't get hit
"That doesn't matter. I need you to pulll forward.
"I am waiting for a call from the garage, when it comes I will be out of the space forever. Why don't you call the garage and expedite that for me
"That doesn't matter. I have nothing to do with the garage"

You get the drift. Talking to a 31 year old walking post who among other things claimed to have been driving trucks for 25 years ( I pointed out to him thst was when he was 6, "that doesn't matter") 20 minutes of this entertainment. Asked for his supervisor, he said he was the supervisor. Asked him to call the manager, he refused.

Eventually left the premises, called the garage and cancelled the work order, explained to them I was being harrassesed off the lot by this guy.

Corporated 800 number thinks it wasn't even an employee, just someone who stole the vest.

After the 2nd time he asked, I'da said NO....after the 3rd time, #### NO, after the 4th time I'da said go #### yourself. Then you would have seen a supervisor get involved.

    HaHaaa..thanks I needed a good laugh!!

I was actually going to agree with the poster about how bad the T/A has become until I read your post and realized what a spoiled sissy some of us have become and then I felt sorry for the TA..

Not having "Chilled French Vanilla Cream" for your coffee made you demand a Mgr and even walk out...HaHaaaa(thanks again)

I'll only go to Petro once in a while to eat, I buy nothing else. I'm to the point where I completely avoid TA. Restaurants have gone to hell while Petro at least typically has a decent buffet and good salad bar. TA has neither...
