I understand that they unload around the clock at most. I have heard that SOME DC's unload all perishable products, whether its dairy commodities, frozen items, meat and produce at one time. There's not an around the clock receiving. They receive all perishables in like an 8 hour span. Has anyone else experienced this? I guess its kind of like a free for all type situation?

so, your saying that they unload it in like a 9 hour span or within like a 24 hour span?

There are the occasional drop and hook DC's too. Some will not let you check in anymore than an hour before your appointment time. Seems like 4 hrs is the norm anymore. Anything for spite.

Why are the Walmart Distribution Centers so spiteful? The drivers, like the shipping and receiving clerks, all have jobs to do in a timely manner.

When bad people die, their soul is supposed to go straight to hell. Like a Pilot parking lot at 7pm, sometimes it's full, and they have to work at Walmart receiving for while until a space opens up.

Make sure you get to the gate early enough so that you can get to your door, unhook, and get to the receiving window before your appointment. One time I got to the gate just in time, and the wonderful receiving people almost refused the load because I got to the window late, even thoughi arrived on time at the guard shack. Of course, I must've got banned from there because I never got dispatched to that DC again. Must've been that remark I made about Sam Walton rolling in his grave! :biggrin_2559:

I always get nervous at the ones that are strict about not being more than an hour early. By the time you get through the gate, unhooked and through the line at receiving, it takes almost an hour sometimes.
