ODFL pays practical miles - all miles loaded or empty and bobtail if you ever have to (rarely).
Practical miles are within 1-2% of the speedometer miles, which is probably off anyways.
HHG miles is a rip. IMO.Tonythetruckerdude and paul_4lp Thank this. -
Most pay for all DISPATCHED miles, so, obviously, you don't get paid for bobtailing to the store/bar etc, right ? You're emptying in Dallas, get dispatched to Waco for a pick-up then deliver to Baton Rouge. All paid miles, Dallas-Waco-Baton Rouge. Which is figured on companies computer plan and is short about 7% from actual miles.

bruce Oakley trucking pays loaded and empty and they pay very good!

What do you consider a MAJOR company. I work for a company with 340 trucks.

Are you talking dispatch miles? Or miles that you do for personal reason? Most megas pay all dispatch miles, and rarely do they allow line 5.

No company will pay ALL miles, they will pay ether practical or shortest, but not all
