If your right out of school you get the most ugly but it's to be expected since your more likely to wreck it.They do have colored ones now.though I wonder if those trucks are from failed lease purchase deals

Schneider had decided to stop making orange tractor. For resale reason. They will still have orange trailers.

Some don't have the cash to pay for the school and they get a loan for something that the company would have paid for.$ 1800 on school was a steal for sure.I payed a lot more than that and it was 24 years ago. Most guys don't live in an area that has local jobs that are not all ready filled by experienced drivers. They may not Know that the company will pay it.Glad it worked for you

Valid points, if I wanted to go otr I would have went with roehl company school. But I decided that I really did not want to go otr so the $1800 was a gamble I was willing to take for a chance at local, I got lucky and it worked out. Anyway my rambling point is that private school opens more options, but I agree it is not for everyone.

Another thing to think about is would the company your planning on going to accept the private schools training. But with FMCSA getting ready to publish new CDL training standards that may be a moot point

    Mictrucking and ajohnson Thank this.

I'm in second of three weeks Schneider training. I paid for my CDL training so I'll receive their reimbursement which is paid over time. There are many options within the Orange sphere. I am on a dedicated accounted for SNI (Schneider National Inc). It seems to be a really good gig to break into the trucking world. I haven't found a reason to think I went with the wrong company. Good luck!

Schneider will take a driver that has had driven on their own miles with in 10 years of last turned miles and let you go out again with out any trainer. If you ask me, that is a company that wants to put you to work.

Schneider was a good company to start with when I was there 24 years ago. They had a lot of rules that would help a newbe stay safe and keep his record clean. But don't stop looking around the trucking industry to see what might be a better gig that pays more. There are gigs that will pay $100,000 to a company driver but you will have to search and be will to do what others driver won't.Good luck
