Hello fellow truckers. Im not a new trucker. But I just don't know where else to post this question. When I started trucking there were not any truck driving schools. You just learned on the job back then. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to start an argument with anyone. Everyone of us was a Rookie at trucking when we started out. So I'm not bashing new truckers. I would like to know if some or all of the training companies tell newbies to practice staying in the middle or left lane on interstates. The way I look at it is if you are on a interstate with 3 lanes and signs are posted "No Trucks allowed in left Lane" that to me makes the middle the fast or passing lane for trucks. Its usually one of the mega companies that trains new guys(and Gals) that is running 60 in that lane. Now that I think about it I don't think I have ever seen a woman trucker hogging the middle lane. Good for you Lady's you guys are awesome. Maybe someone that went to trucking school can answer this for me. Be Safe Out There Everyone
    Thanks Freebird from Georgia

Yeah driver, they do actually teach this crap nowadays. I heard it was called the smith system or some such...They are taught to "always have an out", but are creating more problems in their neuter-commuter rigs than they ever "avoid".....

One more benefit of the NewBreed Mega Truckers.....:(

Nothing wrong with running the middle lane in some situations at some times and in certain traffic if you can at least run with the general traffic flow. That said there are many drivers who get pissed if they want to drive faster then you and you don't get out of THEIR way because I am given to understand that for some, it's all about them.

This week has been nothing but popcorn threads. Seriously I'm like cover in butter by now.

I see it happen all the time, but only a few times someone would get on the cb and yell at them. Plus this new students don't even have cbs! So now what? Force them to the granny lane?
