A person leased to a carrier can greatly benefit from helping build a carriers freight base and reputation for great service, on time every time. The benefit is in more and better paying freight options.

No. I won't accept that. I will provide great customer service. I'll go above and beyond to fulfill my duties. But I won't take a pay cut or no pay just to help the company grow. Once you do that you're devaluing your self and this whole industry. That's part of the reason why it's like this now. The mega companies tell these new kids that they gotta stsy out for 6 months at a time to help out and grow lanes. Meanwhile there's no benefit for these guys to do it. Except for a small paycheck and a miserable life.
It's just like the guys who will take .22 cpm just to drive a brand new Pete. Guess what you don't own a bolt on that truck and you get zero benefit of it. KNOW YOUR WORTH.

And I agree completely, the greater point I was trying to make through my two post is to act like adults and business owners. If something is not working there are avenues you should take to resolve said issues. No offense to this great forum, but TheTruckersReport is not the place to try and resolve a dispute. To make a rational comment about a company you have a issue with, and it should already be resolved when you do, on a public forum is ok. Too handle it like a child just shows what they are dealing with.

I heard they're going to open a McDonald's up there soon . Gonna have some truck parkin'.
But a Big Mac combo meal is gonna cost about $47 million.

So if I'm pulling in 3 bucks a mile consistently and the owner of the variety I'm leased to talks to me and says settlements will be a little late for the short term future, i should terminate my lease and hope i can find another carrier that can get me 3 dollar a mile consistent freight? That sounds pretty silly to me. Rolling coal had been with bill for quite a while, and had made a ton of money, for him to cut ties over this little bump would be rather foolish. If i was in his shoes, checks would have to be a couple months behind before i even started considering leaving.

WOW...and O/O's should stay with that kind of company waiting to be paid after 3 weeks of OVERDUE/BEHIND, WEEKLY settlements? Hmmmm...No wonder the OP quit...

Am owner operator is a business owner. Not an employee. Sometimes business owners are willing to take risks of slow pay for future revenue potential.

I am rather surprised how many truck owners think like employees, tho i really shouldn't be.

I recall many years ago some of the old timers warning Bill about his plans and Bill posting up that he was going forward anyway. That's the simplist way I can remember the posts. I'm sure they are archived in some long lost zombie threads around here. I always had and still have high hopes for Bill to succeed and I especially like an underdog going for it despite naysayers. Power on Bill, prove em all wrong all over again.

Here's my take, after reading through this thread (others were alluded to, but I haven't read them): Bill has tried to grow the company too fast. He's overextended, and can't cover his obligations to the trucks that are leased on to him. He's maxed out, stressed out and is struggling with health problems on top of that.

From what I see, (and I certainly only have a small part of the picture), Bill's biggest issue is that he's taken on too many truck owners that aren't responsible with their own finances, and are a few weeks' settlements away from having to close up shop. And that's on him. He wants to help everyone to succeed, but he needs to take a step back and realize that he's not in a position to help everyone. I think he's figured that out, and I hope that realization has not come too late...
