You can run nights if you want but truth is in reefer your hours will change like it or not

The reason I ask is if you like to drive at night, you could come over to Davis Express. The majority of your driving will be at night. Not trying to talk you out of your gig, just passing that along. I'm starting orientation at Davis Tuesday. That's one of the reasons I picked them over other reefer outfits. I want to have pretty consistent hours.

Problem is while I do have some experience driving LARGE vehicles I DO NOT have my CDL, and I am talking with both Roehl and Jim Palmer because they offer schooling. Just not big fan of Roehl SLIP SEAT policy

You'll be switching back and forth not a set night time schedule, goodluck if you decide to go for it.

Oh, I see. Don't quote me on it, but I think you have to have 2 yrs before Davis Express will hire you. I have a lot more than that so I don't ever pay any attention to that part, lol.

Of the 2 you mention, I'd likely go to Palmer. Roehl isn't bad if you can run out of Ellenwood, GA, but you'd be assigned to Gary, IN, and I wouldn't do that for any amount of money, at least not any amount they'd pay, lol.

Bit of advice, learn as much as you can about the operation of the reefer unit itself. That wasn't covered at all in my school, back in the dark ages, nor did the first company (reefer outfit) that hired me, bother to teach me anything about them.
Be prepared to deal with lumpers, and with long load and unload times, and very tight JIT schedules.
I actually enjoyed the couple of years I ran reefers, but I ran for a good small operation, that had good accounts set up on both ends.

Well I am originally from Northern Indiana, and spent most of my free time in places that makes Gary look like Disney World
