Just to be sure I'm covering all my bases. These are all the things in my permit book. I am a flatbed owner operator and keep the registration and inspection in permit book for both tractor and trailer.
I have the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations Pocketbook green book and hazmat book in a drawer along with onsite safety equipement (ear plugs, steel toe boots, reflective vest, safety glasses, gloves)
I also have 3 triangles in box along with tools and spare parts. Fire extinguisher by the drivers seat
Below is table of contents for Permit book , I keep BOL in their own briefcase.
Am I missing anything required or can you suggest anything?

That ( or some version) is for Oregon, New Mexico, and Kentucky but not NY anymore? -
When you do have hazmat load, you want to have the ERG both within your reach while seatbelted and also within sight of the DOT inpsector who pulls you over.

If you are running e-logs don't forget a spare paper logbook or two (think it's 2?) in case the e-log goes down. Have to have them in the truck even if the e-log is working.
bowhunter67 and CruisingAlong Thank this. -
Dont know about now but used to be if he hauled hazmat, he had to have a hazmat registration authorizing him to haul hazmat from the Feds. I doubt it will apply to a flatbed, but some states also require Alcoholic Beverage Registrations if you haul Alcoholic Beverages through their states. Never seen a flatbed hauling beer. lol

I carry a MCS-90, just because it was asked for during a safety audit.
And I keep the previous years UCR, for some reason I seem to remember seeing that I had to keep the previous years registration, so I do even if I don't have to.CruisingAlong Thanks this.
