California DOT called yesterday

I received a call from them yesterday asking me why are the reasons I don't do business in California.
I told them that besides the bulk of my loads are in the NE area I'd rather don't do loads involving California.
Has anybody here been called by them too?
I'm curious.

 

It's not like they don't have enough truck there!

 

and the survey said.

 

I know! That's why I'm curious about they asking why I don't go over there.

 

That is strange, did you verify the number that called you? That it's not someone fishing for information?

 

I did not.
It sounded kinda legit, I don't give anyone info over the phone regardless.

I just called and it looks like xsetra is right, its like a survey company.

They'da hung up on me after an hour or so of endless reasons, then I'd be on their internal "do not call or you'll be sorry" list. Win....win.

I received a similar call about two months ago. They wanted a survey of what I don't remember. They sounded like an official state institution of the name I don't remember. But I did not like the first questions of what my name was and exact address. Well ... at that point I told them that I was afraid they might be some impostors and that I did not trust them, and also I told them not to call me again.
