Well let's say it would cost more to leave right now that after the beginning of the year. It costs to move. Trust me I plan on leaving Fleecer Transportation. At the same token Other drivers deserve the real truth instead of the Koolaid gulpers version of Mercer. If they were so great and fair minded they would not have a revolving door or Owner Operators like they do.
The vast majority of Mercer freight is nothing more that a bunch of regurgitated load board freight from other carriers.
I heard that Mercer back in the day were superb and the flatbed carrier to work for. Not any more. I got the 411 on this from a 25 year veteran who was at Mercer. Trust me.....I know more than you think.
If you found your niche at Mercer through buddy hustleing or what ever "arrangements" you worked out with certain brokers. (nudge nudge wink wink) good for you all.
Just trying to save other owner operators from making the same mistake I did as well as hundreds others that bail only After a few months or a year.
Don't waste your time putting an app in at Mercer. Hopefully I just saved an OO from wasteing their time and money at Mercer.

Blah blah blah. I'm a jerk who can't get along with a coordinator or agents and i wonder why they won't call me on good loads.
back street slider Thanks this. -
Waiting till you own the trailer?

Just my 2 cents, been here 8 months and really happy with the company and other contractors I've met. All my operating costs have went down and my profit margin has grown. Now it's not all butterflies and rainbows I'll grant u that, I've had THREE loads in a row dispatched on me this week and at the last second pulled from me. #1 added hazmat to the load, #2 not ready till next week and 3rd was told they was on strike and nobody to load the trailer 2 hours after I confirmed my pickup arrangements with the shipper. BUT landed and one just in time for the weekend!!! Still happy to have mercer on the side of the truck. Good day all

Great place

Just look at the Mercer lot. Half the drivers are pealing their stickers off their trucks and turning in their permit books while others are being brainwashed in orientation. LOL.
-
And yet you won't leave.
back street slider, Nickson22 and Highway Sailor Thank this. -

It took you 9 days to formulate that response? Or was it that you are bored and wanted to start the #### again?
Any one else notice how the ones who talk the most trash are the ones who either failed due to their own bad choices, or those that have nothing but bad to say yet stay leased on? The ones who went belly up ate angry and want to lay the blame on anyone but themselves, while i don't agree with that outlook i understand what they are thinking. But those that say it's horrible here and yet stay leased on? One has to wonder what their true motivation is. Myself, I'm beginning to think they don't even own a truck and drive for some fleet owner.
