Can the top bunk be secured? The bottom has seatbelt things so I would think if not illegal it would be a bad idea.MrEd Thanks this.

The truck builder says "No". But I'm not sure how the FMCSA feels about this.
-
Honestly I don't think I would want to be in the top bunk. If they had to stop fast that's a long way down.
Suspect Zero Thanks this. -
Thank you guys

Not to mention the movement is amplified much more at the top bunk than to the lower bunk. Especially "bucking" motion like when going over a bad bridge approach.
ExOTR, Suspect Zero and crxdc Thank this. -
And if they hit overpass omg that would suckSingingWolf and Kyle G. Thank this.

Most companies have a policy that state no sleeping on the top bunk while the truck is in motion. I would look through the company policy and see if it has it. If so, ask for a new trainer.

Top bunk in a moving truck is a no no. One good bad bridge will eject body through the forward windshield or worse.
That was one of the commandments of trucking, No one up top while she's rocking and rolling.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
If the upper bunk has legal net restraints I don't see a problem.
SingingWolf, diesel drinker and x1Heavy Thank this.
