Looks like one of those kamikaze turkeys i heard george noory talk about on coast to coast radio show. Sasquatch hypnotizes them and turns them into kamikaze. I think it was dr. Phillip Michael ezekiel Thomas III from the british institute of turkey studies encountered the kamikazi turkey during a field trip to Idaho last year.....just sayin

I've had that happen a few times. I tried getting on the air horn and that didn't work. The last time this happened I was going about 45 mph on a country road in east Texas, next to a field. Three deer looked up as I approached and then sprinted to get in front of me, slowing me down as they seemed to make a game of weaving back and forth in front of the truck. I put the Jake on high and let off the throttle a few times. They bolted off at the sound of that. Perhaps it sounds like a growling predator to them. Far more effective than those ###### deer whistles.

A couple years ago we had a driver catch a turkey dead center in the windshield. The only good thing I can think of about the freightliner split windshields is that the metal in the center kept the bird out of the cab.

This happened in northern Michigan at the beginning of July.

As a young Marine I was driving our company Sergeant Major around who was showing the 2nd highest Sergeant Major in the whole Marine Corps around Camp Lejeune. Did I say that right? I had two SGTMAJ in the back seat of a Humvee in other words. Anyway the speedo on those things is dead center of the dash and company SGTMAJ had a rolled up map in his hand and kept tapping me on the head when he thought we were going too fast lol. This Humvee had canvas back so flopped and made noise at 45 miles per hour (top governed speed). So coming around a corner I see traffic slowing down for this huge strutting turkey at the edge of the road. The noisy flapping of the canvas cover pissed off the turkey and he jumped up and flew directly into the windshield and busted it then fell away flapping his death throes.

As I'm getting bashed about the head with a rolled up map I envisioned a life of hard labor at Fort Leavenworth lol. This wasn't even my Humvee, I had been sent to the Motor Pool to get one but they didn't have any available. I said the SGTMAJ sent me so they had another Lance Corporal give me his trip check sheet complete with his name rank and serial number all over it and me with my rifle, went and picked up these two SGTMAJ's. Forgot to mention we were on field duty for 22 days and rolling around Camp Lejeune in an unauthorized vehicle with an unauthorized weapon lol sooo going to the Brig.

But we made it back to CIC without further incident lol but the officers and senior staff NCO's never let me live that one down. The Lance Corporal was pissed off when I gave his Humvee back with a busted windshield and it was up to him to explain to the Motor T SGT how it got a busted windshield lol

If the other truck was maintaining the speed limit, he would have been long past that point when the deer crossed ;)
