I just talked to a daycab pneumatic company 4 miles from home,
    Slipseat daycab
    37 cents a mile
15.75 hourly for all loading and unloading, (usually takes an hour to do each )
I'd run out to Pacific, MO , load and come back and unload. 250 miles each way.
    Usually 6 loads a week
And a few loads from the rail cars at their terminal to the foundry per week, paid hourly.

It seems real low per mile, but it adds up to more than I make here most weeks and with a lot of off time.

Sounds decent, take the plunge Tucker. You guys at Crete put up with too much crap anyways.

It will probably result in one of those "why the hell didn't I do this sooner?" moments.

OTR is a flippin' joke. Was doable on paper but on ELD's....nope!

    I think I should too.
One of my friends friend does that run, and still has a big farm to run too and he's been trying to get me to give up OTR.
I'll have to practice reciting a pretrip in case they quiz me on it

carramrod32 and Dna Mach Thank this.

Never understood how a guy who had his license taken away could be the company's "safety guy".

Not sure why people think elogs make this job so impossible. Same rules as paper, just more difficult to cheat. And if you have to cheat to make a living with the overall increase in cpm most companies pay nowadays, then they need to work for a different company. Always had more time on my 70 with elog than paper...the lack of decent runs and piss poor planning in Lincoln always had more to do with miles than elogs ever did.

We need to find a different topic to ##### about...the elog drum has been beaten into the ground.

Maybe that's why he wasn't President,
I don't know anything about any of them, they never offered to get drunk with me :(
I really hate the one that talks like Jeff Foxworthy, not for anything he done, just the stupid accent.

I made it out to KC, got laundry done quick. Nobody even talks in the drivers lounges anymore, they are glued to the phone.

They're probably texting each other...easier to have a private convo and talk about the funny looking driver across the room that looks half insane.

Elogs are already making a huge difference in parking. I park early, and with everyone on elogs we'll have to be parked by 15:00 or pay for a Reserved spot.
And the big ATA companies are going to be in for a huge shock when they find out they're going to have to start paying for it.

well I was at crete a month and a half, spent more time waiting for the shop to fix the junker trucks than I did hauling loads. so last night I quit. and I had 50 bucks worth of stuff taken while it was in the shop. I did like the job, but its not a drivers company at all.

    carramrod32 Thanks this.
