Then there's always those who expect people coming out of school and training to know "everything". Even the things that cause confusion and disagreement among those who've been doing it 20+ years.

Then there's the fact some say "ask questions. No such thing as a dumb question". Then another follows that up by insulting the one who asked the question. It's no wonder many new drivers have such a hard time.

He's describing a 9 speed although he said "splitter" when he means "range". If it has both, he's got a 13 or 18 speed.

Try asking an Hours of Service question and get a ton of people commenting with the exact wrong info who would stake their lives that they are right lol.

How long ago was this? I drove for Stevens, and my first truck there was a manual. I don't remember if it was a 8 or 10 speed, but I do remember it had all the low gears, forward and reverse.

It the last two years, Stevens has been moving strongly to all automated transmissions as well.

Let’s just try not to get into too much detail. ;)

I did my test drive there in... September of 2015. I didn't stay.

Very few drivers stay at Stevens if they aren't long timers, working in their oil field service division, or trainers. The business model is a training school that also hauls freight, rather than a freight hauler that also has a training school.
