Wait a minute, wait a minute, time out!
You warn drivers too avoid Western Express.
But you still work there because you're lucky to have a job?
What has side tracked your career so bad that you are lucky to have a job with Western Express? There must be other options. Maybe there's some people on here that can help.

Youre saying you didn't want to work on flatbed side of trucking? Well thats how it works in flatbed, you have to secure materials, tarp/strap/chain as required, under snow/heat/rain. Sounds like you've wimped out.

Reason for edit: Inappropriate wordOldironfan, RedBeardedT and nightgunner Thank this. -
Western express just called me today and offered me 43 cents per mile and quarterly $1200 safety bonus and train me on flat bed for 4 days of training. And get me long haul miles. I'm considering it very heavily today. Out time was 10 to 14 days which is optimal for me.

Sort of my experience with Purdy Bros. and Loudon County Trucking. I was hired to do refrigerated van operations and drove a truck from Princeton IL (Purdy terminal) to Loudon TN terminal and then was told they did not have a opening at Purdy do I want to train for flatbed at Loudon or I could find a way home??
What a way to start a new job with a company. needless to say I did not last long, I did try hauling the aluminum with less then a hour training on securing but frankly it was the 8 hours waiting to load that finally ended my employment with Loudon County. -
you might want to read up a bit on this company before you get on the bus.......Lonesome Thanks this.

They offered to rent me a car to get there. I'm trying to review them more.

I worked for Western Express flatbed for a year. The trucks were lousy and the managers treat you like a child. they will give you a hard time if your not rolling like they think you should. Hometime ?? Ha Ha Ha you'll be sent the wrong direction the next day when you request it and by the time you do get home it will be two weeks later and you'll get screwed out of the plans you made for hometime. You'll be treated like dirt. My manager was in idiot with no leadership skills who was logging in everything about me he didn't like on my profile and fired me. If your lucky you will get a decent truck but they don't take care of them ,they are governed at 64 mph and wont climb a hill for nothing at about 35 to 40 mph as low as 25 mph on a very steep hill. If you take it to the shop they still don't fix it. I did the best I could without training and taught myself. Yeah I needed a job too so Western was my only choice at the time but my advice to anyone, stay away from Western Express BAD COMPANY
