I had a couple of really old Carriers once upon a time. They were real howlers. Even today I think those things make a ice pick in my ears now and then from those days and I am a deaf man.

Ive been spoiled in later years with non Carrier reefers believe it or not they have gotten really good.

Didn t Carrier recently come out with a noise reduction package for the reefers?

Maybe it's an option, but our newest '19 big Carrier units, to me, seem to have more bothersome low-end resonance, as well as higher decibel levels than their older units

*shrug* I don't even notice my Carrier or Thermoking units cranking up or running. Never have. I like sleeping with white noise.

On the other hand, the voices of people in a movie playing in the truck next to me will keep me up for a while. I have a hard time sleeping when I hear people talking.

My carrier apu was so loud I wore ear plugs at night. Usually drowned out the reefer next to me but not always. I can't believe how quiet some of them are now. I've pulled tanks for 9 years and took a break. Looking at a few reefer companies near me in NE FL. I'll stop here, don't want to hijack post. Glady take any advice in a pm.

Well you were parked next to Carriers for so long how can we expect you to hear anything......

TKs have been getting less noisy in my opinion. Still will not make up for the broken covers and exhaust rattles.

Tk has more engine sound to me. And it just eases me to sleep.

Thermo king reefer units have radiators on side of units. Carriers are front of unit. Im sure they both have their advantages, but seems to me with companies closing the gap behind the sleeper for mpg the Thermo king drawing air from side be better choice.

I dont think my 1 yr old 7500 is any noiser than my 210+ was. The older carriers were the real noise makers. Never had any trouble sleeping next to any of them though
