I work for Werner dry van OTR and this is my first year in the trucking industry. After 7 mos in I’m grossing on average 700$ a week. Remember that is gross (before taxes).
Rate is 36 cpm.
I stay out 3 weeks at a time.
Your options open up to better pay after experience. Even after 6 mos I’ve gotten better offers. Werner is great for new drivers looking to get experience, but you shouldn’t be bringing in less than 1000k gross a week for this kind of work. Just my 2c
What is Werner Enterprise's pay like?

Actually, they remind me a lot of you. Arrogant and unable to admit something might be wrong. -

It's been some time since i've posted this, lol. I have worked for Melton Truck Lines since this post. I average about 2800 miles a week at .51cpm and $50 a tarp, averae 2 tarps a week. I spend about 14-15 weeks kn the road and go home for 14-15 days.
I put $250 a week to the side in savings, sometimes more. -
If you are solo 48 state you will have a rough time getting much more than 40k as those trip planners are the worst. There is a reason that all those employees are behind a barrier wall in Omaha with small windows they open up to talk to you. 48 states is .38 a mile but if you get a bunch of 3-400 mile live load/unload you’ll soon see why they need fresh drivers all the time.
I won’t repost a full review. See my review for a full run down. They aren’t terrible, but I wouldn’t recommend them unless your only choices were other megas.LtlAnonymous Thanks this. -

Hi, how much is the cpm for a new driver (fresh out school) in a dedicated account (dolar general, family dolar, walmart, best buy, etc) thanks
-
Not worth it. They can barely hold onto those drivers.
Absolutely do not go solo with this company. The load planning is like something a meth addict would do.
Since leaving I have had absolutely none of the problems I experienced being solo with Werner.
The way their solo dispatchers and planners behave is absolutely psychotic and they dont even understand that their behavior is unacceptable.
Do not go solo with Werner under any circumstances.Matt43324 Thanks this. -
stay away from any dollar account. they like to advertise them, but in reality you are making roughly 140-150 bucks to unload a trailer by hand. total unload times is going to be 6-8 hours, i did it for one day, total time in a trailer was right at 8 hours. in the end, it comes out to making the equivelant of 13-14 bucks an hour to lump freight. not worth it, personally if it wasnt for the toppers it wouldnt be as bad, i found the toppers to be a no-go. trailers are packed like garbage, look at some of them dollar stores, they are ridicoulous to get a truck into. if home depot is available take that, it starts at like 48cpm, and they got a really good set up. drop and hook, occasionally have to shift a trailer to the next dock at the stores....but almost all home depot stores are set up well for trucks. easy in, easy out. most of the stores are very freindly, ocassional back haul, most are drop and hooks, i havent had a live load back haul in almost 3 weeks. but as dave said, some of the folks you deal with in omaha are just retarded. mainly their logs and road break down. break down tends to call you at 3am to inquire about a trailer you sent a mac24 for at 6pm, and then get a pissed when you cuss them out for waking you up. they really dont like it when you ask for their personal number either lol. not to mention, if you live within reasonable commuting distance of a home depot distribution center good chance of being home a few nights throughout the week. very little deliveries on saturdays, sunday deliveries are only during unusual circumstances....i.e. we was delivering sundays after the hurricanes.
DDR trucking Thanks this.
