Anyone that says they haven’t felt frustrated at the BS we sometimes have to endure, is either Lying or too dumb to know better. The OP has a great point, exactly the reason Drivers can get a new job in a day or less.A lot of people can’t tolerate the BS. Almost anyone can be taught to drive a Truck. Putting up with the BS is what you’re really paid to do. He’s probably going to be better off anyway. Truckings not for Everybody. For Me it’s always been better than any alternatives. Still looking though!!

So I'm going to assume that by 5+ years "serving your country" you mean the military? I bet your military recruiter lied to you as well. Did you get treated like a queen when you got off the bus at basic training? I sure didn't.

The fact that you even went to work at Swift expecting great things says a lot. Even most of the knuckle draggers that stick it out there more than a year know it is a starter company.

Have you found out yet that the world owes you nothing, and nobody really gives a chunk of fecal matter if you served in the military?

I'll bet close to 50% of us have served. Trucking sucks starting out. Suck it up buttercup.

Well, there might be a little truth in that.

We certainly have a big problem with favoritism where I work. Extra runs on weekends often go to the ones at the bottom of the list, and to hell with those of us that have been here for 15 years or more.

We have one city driver who not only will routinely make a 14 hour day out of 7-9 stops, but is generally regarded as exempt from having to do pickups for the same reason. Of course, one can get away with that #### when he has the best job security money can’t buy, and I’ll leave it up to you all to figure out what that means.

When I got off the bus I had long hair, was wearing beach shorts and a tank top. Hey, it was hot!

When the drill Sgt got down to where I was (in the middle of the line) he got right in my face and yelled “the bus to Disney Land left 2 hours ago!”.

Every place is going to have their favorites.
The question is are they favorites because they're good workers and get the job done efficiently or are they butt kissers?

    Butt kissers....

Although one they’re afraid of because he cries “racism” when he sees a route he doesn’t like.

If you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all.
Seen a few of them doing Walmart dedicated runs. A few of the senior drivers ***** and moan about a route. Those moments I feel like telling them “take the load and ####!!”
