If the pin sheared at a low enough stress level to prevent dragging the truck over with it, it would not stand a chance in a wreck and would be iffy as to whether or not it would survive a hard braking event.dunchues Thanks this.

I passed you somewhere yesterday. It was like a calm summer day headed north with that tailwind until I stopped for a bite to eat in Perry Oklahoma. I almost lost my door when I opened it. All good things must come to an end. Turned into a massive headwind in Omaha and it didn’t let up a bit until I got to Fargo this evening.

99.9% of pin loads are level. I'm just thinking if the trailer starts to roll that would be a different force. Might even save a drivers life if it didnt take him with it.

Ever heard the expression "23 skiddo"? In NY on 23rd Avenue the wind was always brisk. Men would hand around to see if it would blow up a woman's skirt. The cops would run them off and yell "skiddo".
