What would K&B do?

This is not rocket science - program your phone to only ring when people you want to talk to, call during your 10 hour break.

 

Where i work , we get one call ... pick a load , roll ... don't interact
with them for up to 5 days ...then its simply one more call to get rolling
again -

- wash - rinse - repeat -

I like to imagine I'm a submarine somedays

.... silent running

 

Why would anyone work under those conditions to begin with?

 

That’s how it is where I am except it’s usually just a text message.

 

Mostly dealing with my dispatch if they communicate with me it’s almost always over the Qualcomm and even then my fleet manager will only inquire about certain things like how’s the weather and/or an ETA to delivery,because she knows that I’ll get there ahead of schedule.
She’ll only call if there’s some extraordinary circumstances or if I need her to contact me ASAP.
Other than that,I’m left well enough alone-and this is at a company that has somewhat of a reputation for micromanaging!

I stand corrected but that’s still #### pay for 7 days of work.

 

Most phone has do not disturb function. I have iphone so it has some options like you can allow calls from favorites or repeated calls etc.
Also you can choose airplane mode or just turn off.

 

My phone ringer gets turned off when I go to bed. Doesn’t seem that hard to figure out.

 

I still say if some ####### outfit was calling me during my break, micro managing me, etc..., I’d turn something off alright, and wouldn’t be my phone. It’d be my employment with them.
