Yeah, but out of my gross, I don't have to buy fuel, pay for tires, repairs, PM's, insurance, plates, etc....and, I get PAID vacation time.

See this is where personal preference comes into play. At poly currently i have a new truck, choose which lane i want to drive, get payed by the hub, Go home when i want for 7 days at a time(if more is needed just ask), layover and breakdown pay, shipping is almost never late anymore, 401k 100% match up to 6%, no deductible good insurance, no micro managing among other things.
After all that i would still leave poly for a better paying job but not 5-6k better. would need to be 85k plus and even then im not to sure i want someone calling me asking why i took an 11 hour break or cameras or real force dispatch. Not to mention i live in Florida and theres just not many good otr jobs that i know of hiring out of Florida.

Also before i make poly look to good i must say the current dispatch people both outbound and back haul has to be the worst since ive been at poly. Mostly because the way up north and Carolina poly (maybe poly west) is dispatched. They are as close to force dispatch as it gets and i know that not all loads are being offered. Same old same old at grand prairie except during the week it seems like they have more drivers than loads and its been like that for a long time.

Another plus, for you anyway, is Big Maud at the fuel desk likes a man in a red truck. ;)

I agree, i will keep my $135,000.00 and not deal with all of those taxes and insurances and truck payments. And i took quite a few more days off this Winter because I didn’t want to deal with chaining on Donner Pass each way every day. I’m happy being a company driver.

But....but....but, I thought Mike Hyatt was suppose to fix all that when he moved into the head position...this is of course after he fixed how the shop was running. (I secretly think he is a special secret Hefty employee hellbent on killing the competition :D)

(it’s not what you make that counts, but how you manage what you make that counts)
    Frank
For familys/parents that work very hard but are still financially strapped your post are a bit insulting. So In your life you have never had someone die or have 3 kids to put through collage nor have had your wife hospitalizes creating unforseen exspences You have had no hard times at all. You have lead just a prefect dept free life with no hicupps. I call BS
