Nope , the pay is wildly inconsistent. That’s why I left. Right now their miles are low and they are having to take cheap broker loads .
Will be staying with Averitt forever

The key is as long your happy if even some days your not that's work if it was easy it be playtime not work time. Only time matters do working for a company cost you money, relationship issues being away a long period of time, possibly running you to ground which lead you to make mistakes thus no CDL end of the day. Also, there are still shady companies in America that operate 2 log books. the driver will take a harder hit driving for one these then company because it will be his career, not theirs.
I hope you continue to like it keep in mind I had a stepfather who worked for post office after the military he liked it for many many years till the end. Closer to the end he hated it,Hated. After surgery, he took his time off used some extra paid time off and retired figured he couldn't bear to put up with the crap he put up with for years that he claimed he used to like. -
That includes even the new drivers working for the big megas.
Sadly, many drivers seem to accept whatever is given to them as almost a type of pennance; and then try to convince themselves as well as others to be thankful for it.Dna Mach, QuietStorm, mushroom1464 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Some will have the driver sit over 6 hours say its policy for produce or whatever. It may be policy but that company is getting a check when it sits for a long period of time. Let us say they give you 25 $ for those six hours that's 4 $ a hour. Alot these refrigerated companies are notorious for this crap on extremely long periods of waiting more so than the average dry van.
End of the day the list could go on and on the issue truly arises when the driver determines what he will do and won't do what he willing take for pay or lack thereof people think waiting 2 days for a load is acceptable well if they did that to me I would leave but another driver may take that crap. -
I’m glad to hear you’re happy over there! I know two guys who once worked at Averitt. They both work here now, but one guy said that if he gets laid off for any reason, he’d have no problem going back to Averitt.

You would need to pay me a lot of money to be home nightly, or weekly.
$2000 per week I think I could manage it. -
Recruiter.. Only a recruiter would be happy with an Automatic truck
QuietStorm, Texas_hwy_287 and Intothesunset Thank this. -
Next Averitt will have Autonomous trucks.
Than what?
