Disc brakes on a semi?

    that's it exactly, unless you had some fancy valve setup to compensate for it. Best case is you only wear out the trucks brakes really fast, worst case it could case serious accidents

    100% yes, try explaining that to the white collar paper pushers that are specing trucks nowadays!

    I have disc on my tractor. Run trailers with drum all the time. Feels fine

    Just jam on the brakes as hard as you can. ABS will figure it out for you!

    That sounds similar to drivers who hold the wheel saying the wheel will figure out where to go. Last second the driver goes over 3 lanes catch his turn off. Saying they didn't see any drivers beside them.

    Just something I heard from a safety meeting one time...

    To be fair it was a reference to CMS systems that would apply the brakes automatically if they detected a false collision on icy/slick roads. "Don't worry, ABS will let you keep control"...

    That would be my guess. The tractor will be doing a larger percentage of the stopping work than normal, and there might be severe issues with braking on curves in less than ideal conditions, though properly functioning ABS would mitigate a lot of potential issues.
