You're wasting your time. They, like all other corporations in this country, have bought and paid for *your* congressman. Here is an educational video that I hope helps you get over the thought of EVER writing your congressman again. I apologize for the language in the video, but the message is spot on.

    VIDEO REMOVED

I feel sorry for you that you wasted some of your GI bill on this garbage. A little research ahead of time comes in handy. I mean, it's not like you haven't been lied to by military recruiters before, right?

I went TMC right after i retired. He was the last recruitee to visit the CDL mill, and straight up told us 'this job sucks'. Dont know why, but that won me over. Making 1700 a week and home EVERY weekend.

Just like anything else that pays a recruiter ( military included ) make it sound awesome . Just like any other job you have to start at the bottom and work up , i dont know why people think they can just get into trucking and think they are special , do the grunt work , put the hours in , always keep looking for better opportunities till you find the right fit .just like the military certifications go a long way , combination , tank , haz mat are big in the trucking community . I work for a company now that treats me right , and actually looks out for me , in return if they want me to run out a few days to cover loads , I do it .

Of course the recruiter lied. They probably thought you were delusional and an easy mark. Good luck finding what you are looking for right out the gate like that.

Im going to tell you something that you dont want to hear and that many might disagree with me on, but here's the truth. You are part of the problem here. You didn't do enough research on your chosen profession. You thought you could do trucking as a part time job but the truth of it is that there are very few "part time" positions out there in trucking. Hell I run 50 hours a week and my dispatch team still calls me "part-timer" when I talk to them. You went into this thing with unrealistic expectations. Trucking is not a 40 hour a week profession.

First off, thank you for your service. Much appreciated.

Now, I'm a relative newb to this industry as well, dude here speaks the HARD, RAW TRUTH.

Hold on to your seat cause I have more coming your way.

Just like you, I too am a Retired Military Veteran. Good you were able to use your GI Bill and get your CDL A.

Now, let me say this. Corporate America and SOME Americans could give one #### about your and mine service to this country. All say "the right thing" and say.... We SUPPORT our Vets ! Really ? How ? Give me a $5 decal and my name on your truck ? Geez, thanks.

Most companies could give a #### about all our sacrifices and training. Especially our leadership training.

You and I are just numbers like every other working class person out here.

Forget about contacting the Veteran's Commission in DC. Total waste of time. Sorry to burst your bubble but you will get no where for nothing.

Lastly. USXPRESS is a CDL student mill only. Nothing more, nothing less. Horrible reputation as you found out.

Good luck in your job search. I'm doing the same thing right now.

    Western flyer Thanks this.
