You're a tolerant man if a grown man started crying in front of me I wouldn't have driven more than 10 ft. Hopefully he had a back-up plan because his wife's going to be crying next when he can't pay the bills.

I don’t know about the rest of you candy arses, but I KNOW hard work!

I bet there’s not a single one of you that can, and do, floss your teeth every, single day and do it properly!

And, Mike Rowe, you just go up an ally and holler fish! I didn’t wanna be on your goofy show anyway!

I already explained somewhere here that I wear dentures. Dentures do not require flossing.

You got 2.7%?! Crap! I literally worked a full time job in IT support for eight years and got ONE 2% in that whole time! The rub was the year I got that raise, the employee cost of our health care benefits went up 10% so it was effectively a net loss.

I think sometimes people conflate "hard work" w/ physical / manual labor. Often surviving in the corporate cubicle farm, while not as physically taxing obviously, can be every bit as psychologically and emotionally damaging. I've lost track of how many people I've heard from in person, on this site, Reddit and other forums who were in the corporate rat race ( remember, even if you win the rate race you're still a rat, just slightly faster ), jumped ship for trucking and never looked back! Of course that isn't everyone's experience, but I was seriously surprised but how many people said they left IT for trucking and actually didn't find it anymore mentally stressful than the cubicle farm where they often worked 60+ hrs / wk and lived under constant threat of having their job outsourced.

Just as anecdotal example here's a thread on Reddit where I posed the question when I was first considering getting into trucking:

Thinking about going from IT to Trucking??? : Truckers

who says I get sea sick I've been to sea since my teen years 18 yrs old to be exact. I once encountered a week from hell when the ship heavily lean hard to starboard and stayed that way through a storm I like to sleep with the net over me.

Guys and gals if you kids gets a trophy for participation throw it out, in fact explain it to him and have him or her throw it out. Why?

Here is why, just spend 20 min at shipper and i was telling the idiot behind the desk where the load was going so they could print a BOL out to me, not a new person at the job. I know because I’ve been to this shipper 8 months ago. It wasn’t him checking the BOL making sure i got the right load, it was him telling me he cant find crap on the shipment and needs the info from me.

Ya trucking has a great future.
