The current system, with a 7-3 split sleeper and the 14 hour clock paused during the split, works perfectly for me. If I get much less than 6 hours of sleep, I tend to get drowsy later on.

I sometimes agree with the current split clock, but there are times where it makes my blood boil, let me decide when I am tired, even when I am on my normal local crap, I know when I am getting tired and punchy and pull over, have done many regular tens with in an hour of the house in the weirdest places bobtailing. One of them is the state forest within ten minutes of my house because its quiet and I was getting drowsy, literally coulda walked to my house quicker then it took me to drive to it.

Well....imagine the carnage from less experienced drivers who get intimidated by their operations department to push beyond current legal hours. Guys like us have the experience to tell them to pound sand if we're tired and need a break, but new drivers who don't have enough experience to get another job could be bullied into driving without the regs to back them up.D.Tibbitt and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.
