An old man's career goes flat, Snackbar moves to open deck

It use to be that you had to have a physical address in the state you registered the vehicle. I remember Silver Eagle/Arnold had a vacant terminal outside Muskogee so they could use it's address to register their company vehicles.

 

This is what I am hauling. Industrial scaffolding platforms for the Navy. I have to wait for my truck to come out of the shop so I can change the straps on the back stack. This trailer still has the blocking bolts that keep you from sliding the winches beyond where they are, so I have 3 near the front if the stack, and one at the back. Since I didn't have my truck, I didn't even have a 4" ratchet strap to use...but it stayed where it was loaded. Heaviest load I have had in a while, almost 45k. We'll see how turning down my truck will affect it's pulling ability. Best of all, it's a no tarp load.

 

Ya know, I forgot how much I loathe AMT's, especially the mDrive. That daycab had one. I can't count how many missed shifts it had just driving 35 miles up the road and back to pick up my load. And it does the same thing as the 2016 Pinnacle I had at Moore. Taking off it's either try to roll out easy and it lugs, try to give it a little more throttle and it launches and torques the truck like a tractor at a tractor pull.

 

I am gonna need a new map of the office here in Arlington. The lady who use to handle all our licensing and regulations has left the company. Not sure if it was for health reasons or she just got tired of all the ######## and retired. Her old office is now part safety office and part licensing. One of the ladies who was in safety that use to review logs is now in recruiting, and the recruiting office is where one of the safety offices use to be.

Also, my truck got a lot done to it today, still needs some things done tomorrow. Today it got new steer tires and an alignment, A service (and maybe it's castration). And one thing that is different, my Sam-crappa unit's main screen changed. It use to have a team driver tab, now that's gone and in it's place is a trip log tab. They updated something that most of us didn't need, but it is still having location issues.

 

Truck is done, new alternator on the APU, batteries were tested individually and all tested o.k., all connections cleaned. The only issue I have is, the drivers side interior door plastic has needed the new plastic push-in pieces to secure it to the metal frame of the door. They have been bad since I got assigned this truck, but they never fixed it. I have had wide duct tape holding it tight for over a year. They ended up fixing it, but instead of using new plastic plug pieces, they used...a self tapping screw thru the door panel into the inside metal of the door and some black gorilla tape. WTF?
