I’d still put in for a breakdown day as well. Derek will probably approve it.

My travel agent put a note in the system, I'll note it in the -Derek- box (formerly the Travis box). Since it cost me the load, maybe I'll get something out of it.

I’ll be flying to Michigan in a few weeks, then renting a car to the UP where family lives. There’s barely any trucks up there and since it’s after labor day, all the trolls from below the bridge will be virtually non existent. It’s a very quiet place to live outside of tourist season. But you better love snow because the whole area gets a boat load of it and then some. Regardless, a great place to forget anything and everything about this industry, if only for a week. I-75 up there is very lightly traveled outside of peak season

My aunt and uncle owned a motel in Munising. It was packed throughout the summer. Winter comes, and all of the snowmobilers show up. My uncle helped start the snowmobile thing in the UP back in the 50s.

They also have that annual I-500 snowmobile race in Sault Ste Marie. I’m not sure if that’s what he started or not

Another interesting quirk about the area (I’m sure other areas near the border do the same thing), is a lot of local radio stations in the area use both fahrenheit and celsius in their weather reports. Plus, there’s a lot of people from the Canadian side of the Sault that gets groceries from the US side because of the exchange rate. They can get $300 worth of groceries in Canadian currency for only about $200 here. Plus, MI has no food tax

Not sure. I think all of what he did was around Munising.
