We were delivering up to 14 loads per day to the local cold storage. We are down to 6 loads/day. That cold storage was receiving more loads than they could ship out, so the facility is full. I was told today, I would be going to a different cold storage next week, one that is further away (4 hours instead of 1 hour).
Anyone else seeing reefer loads drying up?

Also, a different chicken plant near me is doing the same thing in a few days.
They are doing everything they can to create more room, even adding several (up to 15) trailers to be used as cold storage but the baby chicks keep on growing. The typical lifespan for a chicken is 7 weeks. That's from the time the baby chick hits the ground until it is harvested as a full grown chicken. If they go much more than 7, the birds start having heart attacks because of the steroids being given to them.TokyoJoe, JonJon78, Western flyer and 1 other person Thank this. -
That far down the food chain.
This could apply to more than just chickens.88 Alpha Thanks this. -
