    Well I got approval for WIOA. I start a 2-2 1/2 month Course. They will be teaching both manual and automatic transmission. I am gonna to ask loads of questions and learn all I can. I'm interested in reefer and dry van. It'll be starting in May and ending in July or beginning of August. I'm excited and scared but it's m to stubborn to give up on this. It's been a dream and goal for a long long time.

    You should still get hazmat endorsement because dry van & reefer haul hazmat loads also. They don't haul the real hot stuff though; dry van & reefers haul freight such as paint or batteries or fingernail polish, etc.

    The best paying dry van companies require all the endorsements. By better paying, I mean $100G - $150G per year.

    Even food service companies pay $100G and more per year. They do some backhauls that require hazmat endorsement, such as listed above, paint, batteries, etc. I know this because I've done foodservice for a few years.

    Just because tanker/Hazmat doesn't interest you no, doesn't mean you will never re-consider. I never thought I would change my mind but I did and wish I had earlier.
    Anyway, you should get your endorsements as soon as possible. The doubles/triples and tanker tests are easy and you only have to pass them once. Good to have even if you never need them. Hazmat is a little harder and you have to do the whole thing every 5 years but still can open some opportunities.
    Even with pulling a box if you get a shipment of loaded totes, you will need the tanker endorsement.

    Good point to mention. Those large liquid totes require tanker endorsement, even if they're shipped in a dry van.

    Always better have & not need, than to need & not have. Especially when just simple tests & minimal fees.

    @Chinatown & @kemosabi49 explained it all perfectly

    Ok,would I need an endorsement for reefer? Wioa only pays for 1 extra endorsement. I'm more than willing to haul/handle hazmat.

    Congratulations. That's how I got my CDL but it was called something else.
    HIGHLY recommended to get hazmat and tanker endorsements. Best of Luck
