We need some people to keep Idling/getting tickets when states start to enforce their anti idle laws.

I did not recommend Prime or Stevens.
    Simply stated they have them.

I sure see enough trucks idling with the APU sitting there not running, even those with Tripacs.

I move if someone cranks up one of the louder ones next door.

That remark reminds me of the driver that quit his job because he wanted a company with APU's.
After he got smart with the people at the company griping about them not caring about him and how any decent company would have APU's for the drivers; then was informed his truck has an APU and he didn't even know about it. Then he changed his mind about quitting, but they told him to not let the door hit him on the way out.

Do some research; there are dozens of companies with APU's. Shouldn't be an issue with you though because you've posted several times you refuse to work for any company that furnishes APU's. Just because a company furnishes APU's doesn't mean you have to use it.

i would worry more about home time and benefits than if they have apu's. alot of them try to lure u with nice new trucks, that doesn't pay bills, thats all i'm saying.

when it comes to them you get what you pay for. find a nice mid priced system and make sure it is installed well and good airflow in the cab. i have seen mainly three diff units out there. TK, Carrier and Dynasys. each one has a dif setup and uses diff engines. check ooida because they are usually runnin a discount or somethin on them. this is what i seen. anybody use these discounts?

My truck has the rare electric APU which is completely silent and has no issues. Runs nonstop for two days then I start the engine for 30 minutes to charge it up and enjoy it for another 12 hours. Truckers who never experienced this will bash it like everything else they never used. A lot of fuel based APUs sound and vibrate like lawn mowers.

My company uses TriPacs and I love mine. Properly tuned and in good condition, they will not vibrate one bit. They keep up with them and prioritize any repairs needed ASAP. My previous job we used a battery powered system. It worked just as well however the batteries would only last 8-10 hours before needing to be recharged by starting the truck. Either way, I'm sleeping in temperature controlled environment and it's up to my employer to determine how that is accomplished. The only company I ever worked for that penalized the driver for this was Knight. They based the top speed of the truck on idle percentage.
