See I was baffled and confused when I went through orientation and found out how different areas operated. For example, I'm a drop lot guy, I get home pretty much everyday running LTL... An LTL driver out of Advance might not get home at all during the week and probably not get in until Saturday for a quick 34 then back out. I have been told though that guys that get mileage pay can earn a bit more than day pay drivers, but I rather have my home time thru the week than the extra pay. On Monday I got a route that's basically 100 miles round trip with 5 stops, unless I go to Williamsburg to pick up an beer load I'll be working for about 6 hours...
On another note, the PTP guy out of Richmond it seems he gets in for a 34-40 hour restart. I'll come in late on a Friday night, hes not in, then come back on Monday morning then still not see his truck. He likes it the.
On the unpaid leave thing, it really doesn't bother me because I don't miss work often. I was told it counted by events not days. I missed 3 days for the birth of my daughter back in May and I was told it counted as one. For someone who might have to visit the doctor often that policy does suck tho

See, we were told it goes by days. Hell, Betty was the one that told me.

I don't ever miss scheduled days of work, but I value my time off.
You'd think Ashley would have a more transparent policy on hometime. -
I had to set up FMLA for Dr appt, being I'm type2 diabetic I go to the dr a lot. That would take most of my 10 days off. I was told, even if its in the morning, and I'm in by say 10, and still work a full day, Ido get docked an unpaid day. It's BS.

Isn't it a federal law that you must use vacation time before utilizing FMLA? That means you'd burn all of your vacation days going to the doctor.

WoW 34 hours off a week. Started seeing Ashley advertising on Facebook, no wonder. I know their growing and looking for drivers at about 70 locations (per the backs of their trailers) but yea, home Friday at 2000 and out again Sunday at 0800? Yea no thank you!

Hey what ever happened to that whole speed reward thing?? Another driver was telling me that they're "suppose" to have a meeting about turning trucks down or turning them all up by the end of the week....
-
The reward thing wasn't working right in the trucks, so if yours didn't already get updated you didn't get it. Mine doesn't have it. I wouldn't hold my breath on getting more speed...

When I started driving, Ashley trucks used to fly by me like a Phantom jet. Today it's the other way around

Volvo's do 64, KWs do 65, a handful of "test" trucks, go 70+
