My company have me a 2019 automatic international. It won't idle unless you press the gas every 5 minutes when the shut down icon shows up on the dash

I have just got a new 2019 Kenworth T680 by my company, I've tried every senario like 10 different things and it still shuts down after 5 minutes like yours. Here's what I'm going to do is get a 12 volt setup with a under 5 minute timer connect to a micro servo that has like a small lever that just touches the fuel pedal down every 4 mins, it only needs to slightly tap it and idle shutdown releases. With my truck if I wearing heels lol...I just barely tap pedal n it releases idle to stay idling, I'll set it for 4 minute intervals. The temp sensor is located just at the bottom exterior of the drivers side mirror on my truck and i dont care to be sticking my hands with window down fumbling to get that sensor heated up with a hand warmer..lol...Good luck to you. I'm getting my setup supplies from a hobby plane shop.

It may have been a fluke, but I’ve seen the T680 continue to idle after a temp threshold was crossed as long as you don’t turn it off. So if the temp sensor is at 72 and you set the idle it remains running even if it drops to 65.

I understand the desire to reduce emissions and save fuel but if it results in drivers getting crap sleep then it has gone too far.

You can save the idle fuel and spend it in the hotel now that you can afford to.

Hire a fat woman to spoon with you all night for warmth.
Or conversely, hire a homeless person to sit in the driver's seat all night and tap the loud pedal every few minutes.

That's a bit much but not too far out of the realm of possibilities.

In the east I used to have female walkers on hire near the rig while we (Plural, they ordered whatever they wanted too for lunch) put together a meal order to go. Their work was to make sure the local urchins did no damage with the spray cans and a secondary purpose to let other walkers know that I am to be left alone for the most part. It would take about 30 minutes to get together the fresh cooked meals for everyone. I sort of miss it these days. Those people down town can cook.

Once in a while I debated not doing that anymore. You occasionally sort of fished up a really hungry one who has clearly not eaten or hydrated well for a period of time to affect the health and so on. And so I would feed her. Nothing more, just the food and good drinks.. gatorade if there was some in the gas and go shop at the corner. They generally did not go for that kind of eating and drinking, but if they are not doing well and you are buying good food and drink. Guess what. They have time for you. It's only temporary. You cannot expect to feed and drink everyone there. There isnt just enough money or time.
