I found my solution. Cost me less than two dollars. Now I idle as I need now. I've always believed in idle if needed and dont when not needed.

So what you got to do is you have to fool the ECM. Get a lighter, hold the lighter underneath the ambient air temp sensor. It is located on the bottom side of the driver mirror, you will see a little knob that sticks out. Now the trick is after idiling for about 4 minutes, hold the lighter a few inches underneath the temp sensor, usually five to 10 seconds is enough. The Ambient Air Temperature will probably read well above 90. Then when that amber light starts flashing on the dash, gently push on the throttle until it disappears. As long as the Ambient Air Temperature is above 70 degrees when you tap the throttle, it will idle all night long for you. Only downside is if it is windy like my current situation, it blows a flame out. But a torch lighter should solve that. Also every time you move the truck you'll have to redo this entire process, I typically just do it on my 30 minute break and whem iis hu down for the night

Don’t melt your equipment. Put a water bottle next to the bunk heater or on defrost heater until hot. Hold the bottle opening over the sensor and displace the air. The warm water will heat it quickly without damaging it and wind is not an issue.

    Don’t freeze and drive safely

That works in my Peterbilt. It didn’t work in my Mack.

That would take forever....and if you melt your mirror, well you probably shouldn't be driving just saying. Holding a lighter about 4 inches under is not going to melt the mirror.

If the water is hot it takes about 30 seconds. Also, I wasn’t implying you would melt the mirror but the small plastic sensor.
