We got a area on my way to work that’s notorious for its police harassing people.
Situation a 3:23 in the morning on this large 8 lane street 4 on each side I’m doing 50 just heading home but not paying attention cause on the other side they have another car pulled over and they have about 4 squad cars to assist. Major overkill in my opinion but for some reason the speed limit on said street was 40 officer sitting in the darkest corner eating donuts pulled me over wasted my time and wrote me a warning.
Situation b same city on the highway was doing 78 in a 70 just riding with the flow of traffic to work was actually behind a car and got pulled over. Officer comes back with, I wrote you a double parking ticket instead of speeding so it won’t go to your license/insurance...could’ve went to court to fight it but I make more money going to work and just paying it. Now double parking was conveniently 125$ more than anyspeeding ticket... including 30 mph over! It’s a scam.
Needless to say when I ride into town now I set my cruise at 55 on the highway and do 34 on all streets.
Cops don't give CDL holders breaks!

Pretty easy - always run at or below the speed limit. Always full stop at stop signs. Keep your required safety equipment and lights in order.
Every speeding ticket I’ve had I deserved. Back when Ohio was 55, and of course - Calidisaster.
Last speeding ticket was probably 8 years ago?God prefers Diesels, born&raisedintheusa, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this. -
GA. state trooper let me go with stern warning after pulling me over in my p/u truck after parking my truck at shop for 11 over on a two lane, he asked where I had del. my last load and said he tried to give cdl holders a break when driving their cars most of the time?

Depends on the cop...and the driver. Some cops, like some truck drivers are natural born A'holes. My experience, treat the cop with respect, and most times you get treated with respect, and if it's within his/her perview, you might catch a break. Be a total jerk, and you get what you got coming to you. I have had a few interactions with LEO's for something I did wrong, and got a lot more of a break than I deserved.

I run local and had the same DOT officer pull me over 3 times within a little over a month. Twice he wrote me tickets and the third time I told him to pick on someone else. That was a good while back and I haven’t been pulled over since. I agree you need to be respectful, but sometimes especially for local guys they will about drive you to distraction until you kind of tell them straight.

Years ago, a cop gave me a break. Suggested since I was a Truck Driver, that I should pay better attention to traffic signs.Good advice.

I think they should develop brighter rollers on tops of the cars.
I'm not quite completely blinded as I drive by a traffic stop..anyways
Last ticket I earned was 1992 in my car.
I've been pulled over 3 times in the last 28 years.
Was cordial and respectful and let go without a ticket.

I think I mentioned this before in TTR. Back in either 2011 or 2012 I had a deputy stop me on I 78 westbound about 30 miles from the I-81 merge. It was late and I had my lights on. My pigtail was loose and this was causing my trailer lights to flash. The guy actually helped me get it fixed and stayed behind me with his lights on to keep everything safe. Told me directly he only busted truckers if they pulled a stupid or was really being dangerous. Way back years ago I was headed home from a personal trip in Franklin NC down US 441 and got stopped for speeding coming into Tallulah Falls by their only cop. This was just after I got my CDL. He told me to slow down then said he knew speeding tickets caused truckers a lot of trouble. Just let me by with a verbal warning. While I am at it, I had a Merdian Mississippi cop do much the same. Told me to be very careful going west because the MSP was doing some kind of operation all across Mississippi.

In my 44 years of driving, I've gotten out of at least a dozen tickets by being polite and treating them like a human being. Only 4 times did it not work, and I deserved every single one of them.
