I've got a few trucks running the the cold climate in ND and Montana for two customers. I have two heaters installed on them; D4 for the cabin and sleeper and an H-LII for the truck itself. I also had Arctic Fox fuel heaters installed in the tanks and inline fuel lines. These trucks have a separate tank that holds 75 gallons of fuel, the drivers purchase reefer fuel and put that in those tanks. NO hook ups between the truck tanks and the heater tanks.

 

My vote is for Espar too - there’s a good You Tube video on maintenance, and they’re a pretty quick return on investment.

I didn’t have the block heater version.

 

The hydronic heaters are supposed to be able to warm an engine to operating temps in 2 hours. And you can get a timer for them.
Way less cold start wear on engine.

 

That's cheap, get it professionally done because if there is an issue with the heater, guess what?

You have to deal with a dealer.

 

1750 USD is high for that job. I bought mine for about 1100 cdn and maybe 300 in install. I would guess 1400 I was into it for. Which is maybe 1100 USD. So your price is like 50% higher...
