Do not be lazy with your load securement. You can get cited and fired.

Something that would be a legal load. 1-3 coils? 6 coils would be light coils.

Maybe someone could paint/powder the bottom of a timber and the bottom of the pad where it might contact the deck and see if there really was a transfer of weight to the deck.

 

Would that load not require tanker endorsement? Not saying you don't have one, but for future reference and for other drivers that don't know.

Question 2: Are rubberized collapsible containers or "bladder bags" attached to a trailer considered a tank vehicle, thus requiring operators to obtain a CDL with a tank vehicle endorsement?

The tank endorsment at first seemed silly. Why would a flatbeed or van driver need that. Then people started to see that it was indeed reasonable. That while not a 45 smooth bore, a few thousand gallons of liquid sloshing around back there was not a nice stable load. It actually needed some attention up front.

 

I regularly haul totes of Hazmat liquid on my flatbed. Both my tanker endorsement and Hazmat endorsement are required. It pays well.

Still, even if that was the case, a board sitting perpendicular to the trailer and forward forces of the coil would offer less resistance to sliding than running the anti-skid friction mats parallel with the coil rack to offer max sliding resistance.
