See a Dr and get it under control.
Going through life as a stroke survivor doesn’t look like any fun.

Do you currently take any prescriptions, or supplements to help control your BP? You can try ‘doubling up’ on the dosage for a couple days before your physical. Get plenty of sleep beforehand. Cut back on caffeine for a fews days beforehand. If the Doc ask’s if you drink coffee, say yes!! and lots of it, the Doc should automatically subtract 10pts off the numbers.

There are breathing exercises on youtube that will temporarily lower your BP.

    Loose weight don't make excuses.

I had issues with mine and 3.5 years ago only received a 6 month medical card. After 40 plus years on the road that was hard to except that it was looking like driving a truck was over and I wasn’t ready yet. I was out on BP medication and started low milligrams and went right up to the maximum in a matter of a few doctor visits. I tried several different types and my BP was all over the map and jumped up even higher the minute I walked into the doctors office. I started drinking pomegranate juice laced with 7-up to lighten the taste, began taking Turmeric, L-Arginine, Ulta CoQ10, Garlique. All of the mentioned are over the counter vitamin supplements. Take all of them at bedtime and by BP runs anywhere 107/71 and as high as 114/74. It’s been a game changer and I’ve missed the vitamins a few times over the last few months but drink the pomegranate faithfully. I do tge breathing exercises and everything I mentioned sure beats the hell out of my BP running 148/91 and as high as 192/104 which scared the holy crap out of me. Passed my DOT physical just like youngster and wasn’t worried at all. I’m sold on the little vitamin diet but was told by someone that stated the mentioned before he ended up from death by heart attack which runs heavily in his family..as everyone he’s lost has been by heart attack. Good luck and it worked fast and I’m sold.

    Carnivore diet.

    Are you over weight?

Like others said fast from noon the day before only water.

But also if you have it, it's better to keep it under control all the time.

Longer term cut these things out of your diet - bread, potatoes, colas, beers & sugary snacks. I lost 51 lbs in a year and a half just by that alone. Started walking several months ago too. I've been on blood pressure medication for 20 some years now but at my next wellness checkup I might be tossing those meds in the trash can. My blood pressure has improved dramatically in the past year. That's how you really get a handle on your blood pressure. And it's really not hard to do. Just takes a long time. Patience and stick with it. I don't even like colas anymore. Drink water all the time now. My old method was to double up on my blood pressure meds the morning I went for a DOT physical.

Consume LOTS of fiber!!! @rollin coal nailed it on the foods to cut. Eat good starches, like cans of beans. Go to Walmart and get low sodium beans in the can. Get you some veggies and fruits, plant based diet. My doctor has me on a low sodium diet and and I also take meds as well. If you can keep your sodium consumption at around 1500 to 2000 mgs daily, you'll lower you blood pressure.
