What's a eld? Why do fools submit to these stupid name changes? Remember when a "FM" was what it was? A dispatcher/coworker not a boss. What was wrong with your "eobr" term for "ebs" electronic baby sitter.

I am on e-logs. Didn't want them. At all. Hated the idea too. But, since 2011, I've been on them. And you know what? I don't speed in construction zones or parking lots. I don't feel rushed either. I left Caldwell, Idaho and I'm sitting here in Indepebdence, CA. 585 miles, took a little under 10 hours. With mountains to cross, small towns scattered all over Idaho, Oregon and Nevada. Oh yeah. And California too. And then those pesky 55 mph speed limits in Oregon and California. I liked paper logs just fine. I adapted to e-logs. I drive my 11 hours, rest for 10 hours, it's great. I'm not going to sit here and say "EVERYONE NEEDS THEM!!!" But I will say that those who stomp their big fat feet and make up stories about people speeding through places because of e-logs are pretty stupid. The way the e-log is set up is the way to "legally" do a log. I've made it cross country, 4000 mile weeks, got home on time, make plenty of cash, and don't get HOS violations nor do I worry about them. Keep making up stories and I'll keep making money

The longest post or the longest post that says nothing?

They can make up all the bs they want. Next time they're in a traffic jam wondering how they're going to make it to their delivery before their babysitter says it's time to go nighty night, they will be singing a different lullaby

Explain this babysitting that you speak of.

My elog has never told me to go nighty night, sleep, or even to take a break. It has never told me to do a pretrip, post trip inspection, to fuel up, or even log on duty when at a customer. It never said to change my duty status when I leave the sleeper to take a walk. It just shows the hours I have available to work and hrs elapsed.

I agree. My eobr has never TOLD me to do ANYTHING. It just records what I choose to do. It does yell when you go over hours but so what? Sometimes you gotta do that.
It just makes my job that much easier cause it keeps track of all the little things for me- where I'm at, hours left, time until that dumb 30 min break. Stuff like that. Leaves me more time to concentrate on the important thing- DRIVING.
