E log vs paper

Yep I run within the law so I don't risk my lively hood. I learned early on there's no load worth my cdl. It's how I make my living. Why would I risk that just so I can brag about how I "get the job done". Your an idiot. The days of cowboy trucking are gone. Get with the times.

No child left behind. Those genious laws were implemented to supposedly be for the good of all, yet all they have done is hurt the majority who were doing the right thing to begin with.

Also I gotta love it in Southern Wiscosin Monday night, I saw more big trucks in the ditch than 4 wheelers. That is becoming more and more common. That is something that never happened 10 years ago, even with the mega carriers. Two inches of snow, and all this chatter on the cb about how bad it was and time to shut down.

With the final rule for elogs, since it is inevitable, I think businesses and cities should be REQUIRED to have safe havens for trucks.

Until the parking problem is solved there should be no mandatory ruling.

And dont tell me to plan ahead for a job that is sometimes completely unplannable.

 

So you like name calling how manly of you shows your intelligence for sure and how mature you are.

The only knowledge that's of any value in this trucking industry is within the last 5 years. Past that it's all ancient history and completely irrelevant to today's trucking industry.
No one cares about a twin stick because they stopped making them what 25 years ago?
No one cares how you ran back in 1972 because it's not relevant to today.
No one cares. Plain and simple. It doesn't impress anyone when you brag about not filling out a log book and running outlaw to "get the job done."

Someday, I hope you will realize, that you are stabbing the very people in the back who are trying to maintain some level of professionalism and dignity in a job that used to be an excellent career, and is quickly becoming nothing more than a low paying job.

I took me a couple of swift kicks in the rear a few years ago, a mere 9 years out here, to realize that my time on the road is not the Bible on truck driving.

I am not here to "impress" anyone. there will always be a bigger boy out there somewhere on the playground who will outdo me.

But I will not stand idly by and let those who have no appreciation or clue about their profession get snobby and uppity and ruin it for the rest of us.

I had an old crusty guy help me put chains on a couple weeks ago. i made an error in judgement and got stuck. I don't know everything.

Right "shut it down if you need chains". Let the reefer and truck run out of fuel. <----That right there is the mentality of the new breed. I was one too but i have graduated from that mentality.

I offered to buy that old guy dinner and coffee, he basically told me to "pay it forward", pass it on. If you were in my situation, would you still tell that old guy that his knowledge and experience beyond the last 5 years is irrelevant?

 

Past 5 years all it is is stories. Chains aren't hard to put on. Learned that my first 6 months out here on donners.
